Emma Kat

My name is Emma and I have lived and studied in Amsterdam for four years. I will finish my bachelor European Studies and my bachelor Philosophy this year, next year I will start the Research Master Literary Studies. Last year, I became involved with education due to my membership of the Board of Studies (BOS) of Philosophy and this march I became council assistent of the Faculty Student Council of the Faculty of Humanities. I still think there is room for improvement at the faculty, which is why I want to commit myself to improving the quality of education next year as well. Not the profitability of studies, but the self-development of students should be the most important task of education. I believe that, in order to secure the quality of education, decisions should be made on a decentralised level, BOS members should get more hours and that financial considerations should never be the only reason to change a study programme.
